My Thanksgiving by Evelyn Wyeth

Boing, boing, boing! I am jumping on my grandparent's trampoline in Arizona, waiting for Thanksgiving dinner to be served. While I stop to catch my breath, I look at the long table. It was as long as my classroom! Boing! I start jumping again. All of a  sudden in midair, everything goes into slow motion as my grandma brings out a big, juicy, steaming turkey the size of baby me! My mouth watered as she brought out a variety of other traditional thanksgiving dishes. Finally, it was time to eat. My plate was piled a mile high with a turkey leg the size of my arm. Stuffing as hot as the sun, and a corncob as juicy as a water balloon. I chowed it in, like, forty-five minutes! When I was done, I started jumping again while I waited for everyone else to finish so dessert could be be served. Ow! Wait! I've got a cramp! I rest on the trampoline for  awhile but the sweet smell of pumpkin pie reaches my nose and I race to the table! I look at all the desserts. I could only choose two! Finally, I decided on a huge slice of cinnamon pumpkin pie and a large dollop of jello. When I can eat no more, I go to bed, dreaming of Christmas dinner. I can't wait for next time!

Back to School 2014

Back in August, the kids went back to school. They are all loving it and I feel like their teachers were all hand picked and just perfect for each child.

Here's our brilliant and beautiful 4th grader standing tall at 5'7"

Our exquisite and clever 2nd grader, whose fashion sense shows her love for animals

Our quick minded and quick bodied Kindergartner always willing to work hard and be helpful

Clever and silly Henry hanging out with mom for one more year before preschool

Our awesome kids!

And a random shot of Henry with his buddy Braxton and his sweet ride. A few minutes after the photo was taken, Braxton headed under the trampoline, but Henry didn't get the memo that he had to duck, so he stopped the car with his head on the trampoline. He was okay, but I'm not sure he'll get on the truck again! Since he wasn't hurt, it was okay to giggle!

Blue Hole August 2014

The last Friday of the summer, we decided to cross another summer bucket list item off our our list. We visited Blue Hole, a natural swimming hole in Central Texas. We packed a lunch and dinner and stayed the day.

The water was chilly! There are beautiful cypress trees all around.

We scored some clearance tubes at the store!

Henry didn't like the water very much, it was deeper than he is used to and I think it scared him to have his water shoes on too.

 Sweet Evelyn

The girls worked hard to catch some guppies
 Will is serious about swimming
 Henry preferred the shallow water

Here is William on the rope swing (he doesn't go until 30 seconds in)

We were really close to Jacob's Well, a natural artesian spring that's really, really, really, really, really deep. It's a little hike down. Ben was the only one who wanted to jump in, but it was fun to see.

Kids Dancing (again)

So many fun things happening in this video, including sneaky Henry! I also love the "I'll be a happy snowman" part of this dance, it looks like they really worked to choreograph it!

Kids Singing Hannah and Henry Crash

Our kids love listening to and singing to the "Frozen" soundtrack. Here they are dancing and singing, but there was a little crash, so I'll post some more without a crash soon!

Mr. Nibbles

So, we got a hamster...about a year ago!!! We love Mr. Nibbles, he is the sweetest little guy. We had been entertaining the thought of a pet and with allergies and renting a home, a hamster seemed the best fit. We researched and found male syrian hamsters are the friendliest. It took some time, but somehow I convinced Ben that we needed a hamster. One day, Ben had to be at home to study and I took the kids out. On our way to a park I said, "Do you guys want a hamster?" Of course they did.
I said that we were going to a Goodwill and if there was a hamster cage there, we would get it and then go buy a hamster! They couldn't believe it!
Wouldn't ya know, when we walked into Goodwill, there was a practically brand new hamster cage with all the parts and pieces for $7! I don't remember ever seeing a hamster cage before and I know I haven't seen one since.
We bought it and went to the pet store. We all really liked Mr. Nibbles and brought him home.
So happy to have him! He is awake when the girls are getting ready for school, so if they get ready fast enough, they get to hold him before they head out the door.

 Sticking his tongue out
Cheeks full of grapes I believe
Run! Hamster, run!

Builder Will

William is an awesome builder! He always has a spaceship, fort, or some sort of something in the works! It sure is fun!
