Sweet Moments

This post shows some of the greatest gifts I have in my life; my family and time to spend with them. We visited the elementary school park one night after dinner. I hope that by going there and creating happy times, if and when things get hard at school, the kids will be able to draw strength from these memories. And it's a really fun park!  These are the moments that bring my heart true joy, not all of the pictures are perfect, in fact, none of them are, but the instants that were captured are priceless to me!
Could you even imagine a world with out an Evelyn?
I love these next series. I love how Ben is encouraging Will as he monkeys up the slide.
 Sweet hand holding

Wheee!

2 peas in an out-of-focus but sweet little pod!

He wasn't so sure about that trip down, but appreciated sister's grip on him.

It's hard to be 3 and stuck on a jungle gym.

 Found his way across.

This is so Hannah, ever cheerful and enjoying whatever she is doing.

Ditto that with Henry!

 Family swing!

I have a picture of me when I was 4 doing the same thing. So fun to be a child!

A beautiful sunset to end the evening. I am so grateful for simple and happy times together!

Henry Drew We Love You!

Henry had a simple and sweet first birthday. It started out with balloons which all the kids loved!
Thanks Stephanie for the idea

It wasn't long after all that playing that Henry was ready for a nap. During his snooze, the kids and I wrapped a present or two, made cupcakes and decorated the kitchen.

This little guy makes me laugh. He looks like he wants a kiss! Hannah and Will  looked through our cupcake book and decided that Henry needed the ducklings. So the ducklings it was. Not too bad for a 7, 5 and 3 year old!

When Henry woke up we opened his presents. He got some sweet things! Thank you family for thinking of him and sending him clothes and toys and cards!

Next, dinner! On the menu, homemade mac and cheese, grapes and carrots.

And of course, cupcakes to follow. The kids thought it was the messiest birthday we've ever had!

We finished the night off with a dip in the pool, which if you watch the video, you will be able to see the Henry loves to swim!
Happy Birthday to the sweetest little babe. Thank you for keeping us laughing and adding so much sunshine to our home! We love you Henry Drew!

There's a Storm a Comin'

About 2 weeks ago we enjoyed a few days in a row of beautiful rain. Ben captured one of the storms. We were headed out for a bike ride, but didn't go too far!

Our house is to the right of the red brick one. You can see the thick cloud above it on it's way to unleash over our house!

We rode up to the park to see the clouds. They were indeed stunningly beautiful, however I went very quickly with the kids back to our house. It was frighting how fast the cloud rolled towards us with it's lightning and thunder, I called it the tsunami cloud.

Beautiful sunset

This is our backyard enjoying sunlight before the storm.

The clouds are so pretty out here in Texas, there is just so much sky in these wide open spaces!
