Well, it wasn't that long ago, but long enough. I have been meaning to post this for awhile. Santa came to Evelyn's dance class before Christmas. You can hear Evelyn laughing almost the whole time, she thought it was great fun, so did we!

Spanish Lady
It seems like right before we have a baby, Evelyn finds imaginary friends. She did before we had Hannah. There were lots of animals. I remember a bird named Burris, a monkey named Trash, a pig that lived on the playground, and a giraffe that lived right off the back deck who enjoyed eating lentils (our poor downstairs neighbors were constantly sweeping lentils off their deck).
Recently she has a friend that she endearingly calls "Spanish Lady." Her real name has been at times "Wizzy," "Lizzy," and is currently "Dizzy." But she prefers Spanish Lady. She is 4 years old, likes oranges, lives in Spain but gets to stay with us the whole time we are in Rexburg. Evelyn says they look alot alike.
Today Spanish Lady came bowling with us. She had a chair of her own that we had to be sure not to sit in. She had a fun time watching. After we finished bowling, we went to McDonald's for lunch. The girls had a fun time and it wasn't until we were on our way home that we heard a loud cry from the back seat: "OH NO! Spanish Lady is still at the bowling place!!! What are we going to do?!!!"
We assured Evelyn that her parents would be able to give her a ride back to our house. Sure enough, within minutes of arriving, there was a ring at the doorbell and Spanish Lady had found her way back! Phew!
When Ben was a child he had a pet Gopher. An imaginary one. His name was Sam. His primary teacher had to move from her chair once because she was sitting on Sam. Sam ultimately got eaten by birds. I hope Spanish Lady has a happier fate.
What a special family I have!

Where to Begin...
Where do you even begin when you've taken a month off of blogging (not that I blog that much anyway!) and that month happens to be December?!
Well, here is a bit of what's been going on:
~My (Jessica) Grandma had a peaceful passing away and I got to go to her funeral in Seattle
~I was stranded for a very long day and night at the airport because of all of the Seattle snow, they said I wasn't going to be able to get a flight until after Christmas! But with nothing short of a miracle and answer to prayer, a seat opened up while I was standing at the help counter on the ONLY flight that did not get cancelled Sunday out of Seattle to Idaho Falls.
~We had our first Christmas at home and made sweet memories
~Snow, snow, snow, snow, snow here in Rexburg
~Enjoyed Ben's 3 weeks off of work!
~A memorable week long trip to Driggs, ID with Ben's family which includes his parents, 8 children, 4 spouses, and 6 grandchildren. So much fun!!!
~Now it's back to routine...kind of, we had an exciting day with Ben's sister, Nicole, having a beautiful baby girl today! So Rexburg is enjoying a visit from Ben's mom as she helps with the new babe.
~Getting ready for baby boy Wyeth to come in 7 weeks!

December Happenings
Happy December all! We were anxious to get our Christmas decorations up this year, we started the day after we got home from Seattle. Ben put the outside lights up this weekend, and good thing he did because we woke up to some snow this morning! (Pics of lights and snow to follow)
Here are a few of the goings on here in the Wyeth household:
We had a ward Christmas party. Ben got to play the part of a Roman Centurion. As you can tell, he really got into it!
The primary kids sang a little number.
Here is ambidextrous Hannah coloring her Christmas swirls.
This was Evelyn's last day of the BYU-I preschool. Too bad it's just one semester long, we loved it!
I thought Hannah looked so grown up in this picture, that's why I posted it too.
My mom and sister got us this gingerbread house kit. It looked pretty plain until Ben decided he did not want to waste all the extra green frosting, so he spiced it up a bit and made it a "swamp house." I think we're ready for this little brother!

Thanksgiving in Seattle
Brace yourselves folks, this is a long one!
We rented a mini-van, borrowed our friends' dual screen DVD player and GPS, and headed to Seattle, WA to see my family. It's about 750 miles. With 2 2-hour stops, we made it in about 16 hours. The girls were fantastic. We were all sooooo glad to get to Seattle. A good and long-time friend of mine helped us get a phenomenal deal on a hotel. The first night we were there my mom came and watched the girls swim.
It was a packed trip with many very important things happening. As you'll see, we were there for a very special day:
My sister, Becky, gave birth to Nicholas Andrew on Tues morning. What a blessing that we got to be there for that!
One proud Grandma!
Evelyn could not get enough of baby Nicholas, she adored him! I think she'll really like having a baby brother.
The girls were so happy they got to hold him.
Hannah was thrilled. She kept laughing and saying "he tickle me!" He was touching her arm with his hand.
Another important event: We got to say goodbye to my sweet almost 95 year old Grandma, Alma Emmaline Jacobsen. She didn't pass away while we were there, but a month ago we sure didn't think we'd get to see her before she does move on.
We were so happy to get to see her and I know she was too. We visited her as much as we could.
Next, this is one of my greatest friends, Sunny. She has lived in Virgina and Sweden for the last many years. This is the first time I saw her in about 3 years. She was driving to her in-laws for thanksgiving and our hotel was on the way. What a treat! What beautiful children she has!
We had a nice visit and delicious dinner with the Vassaus. They were one of the two families that shared the Gospel with me. They have done so much for me.
We had a delicious sandwich platter prepared for us by Chalonn. Unfortunately this is the only picture I have of our visit with the Redds. London and Hannah were in the other room and I thought it sounded pretty quiet. I went to check on them and found that London was helping Hannah use the potty (Hannah doesn't use the potty). She had taken off her pants and diaper and Hannah was sitting with her feet, arms, and head sticking out of the bowl with her bum in the water and as happy as could be!
These are three girls that I have known since first grade, Jacqui, Laura, and Becky. What great girls!
My mom and sister threw me a little family baby shower. My dad and his wife, Karla, were able to come.

Hannah was sure the gifts were for her. She insisted on putting on some of the clothes.
Evelyn was a good helper.
Really, two people should not be getting that many gifts for one person. My mom and sister spoiled me and the babe.
This was thanksgiving day. We had a wonderful dinner of turkey, ham, rolls, beans, potatoes, glunk (family fav and tradition), stuffing, and MORE!
My mom's boyfriend, David, did most of the cooking. Something compelled him to buy a 22-lb turkey for 4 adults and 2 kids! Needless to say, we came back to Rexburg with leftovers!
It was a full and wonderful trip. All of us are exhausted and so grateful for all that we were able to be there for and all the people we were able to see! Thank you everyone for a wonderful and memorable trip!

More Kitty Footage
Here is another video of Hannah being a cat. This is a pretty good slice of what it's like during dinner at our house... coaxing Hannah to eat, doing damage containment with Evelyn, reminding both girls to sit on their bottoms... over and over and over again.
